Today we’re asking the question; Is the Church denouncing their beloved prophet?
“I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth…” —November 28, 1841
Keep Smith’s words in mind as you read through the following info…
A report in the Salt Lake Trib last week is an example of how the Church tries to retro-engineer its own history. It also showed the endless egregious lies the Mormon Church encumbers itself with time and again.
The article referred to the Church’s latest problem as a ‘blunder’, with the ‘potential of setting back’ any progress made on the race issue. We’re not sure why anyone would think they’ve made progress, taking into account racist dogma is still couched in numerous places throughout their canon.
Apparently, the Church forgot to do a thorough edit on their latest Sunday school manual for the Book of Mormon studies. The non-electronic version of the ‘Come Follow Me’ study contained a footnote reminding people of all ages their god is racist. Technically speaking, the Church is referring to it as a ‘printing error’. … Oh dear…
Here’s what Peggy Fletcher Stack from the SL Trib had to say in her report –
“Several passages describe a “dark skin” descending on one of the clans, and for much of the faith’s history that has been seen as a racial “curse.” These days, though, that interpretation is no longer part of church teaching.
That is why several early readers of the 2020 “Come, Follow Me” manual were troubled to see a note in one lesson that is a throwback to previous thinking.
“The dark skin was placed upon the Lamanites so that they could be distinguished from the Nephites and to keep the two peoples from mixing,” the book explains, citing a statement made some 60 years ago by then-apostle and future church President Joseph Fielding Smith. “The dark skin was the sign of the curse. The curse was the withdrawal of the Spirit of the Lord. … Dark skin … is no longer to be considered a sign of the curse.”
The report about the ordeal continued on with an official statement from church spokesperson, Irene Caso …
“During the publication of the ‘Come, Follow Me’ manual for 2020, there was an error that resulted in the printing of material that doesn’t reflect the church’s current views on the topic,” she said in a statement. “To correct this, a decision was made to modify the content in the digital version of the lesson.”
These days, Caso added, the church “disavows the theories advanced in the past that black skin is a sign of divine disfavor or curse, or that it reflects unrighteous actions in a premortal life; that mixed-race marriages are a sin; or that blacks or people of any other race or ethnicity are inferior in any way to anyone else.
Church leaders today unequivocally condemn all racism, past and present, in any form.”
WOW, OH WOW!
If the Church is serious about their statement, they’ll need to denounce ALL of their sacred books!
This would also have to mean that Smith’s God-inspired, ‘most correct book on earth’, is nothing more than a mere theory.
The Church owes me, and thousands of other people, an apology. For years I was taught that my black curly hair, olive skin, and dark eyes, were proof I had rejected Jesus in the pre-existence. They also instilled in me from birth I was less of a person because I was too dark, and not truly ‘white and delightsome’.
Comments in the Trib also revealed the shock from others. An assoc. professor at Salt Lake College stated the Church should have shredded the books, and reprinted them. As Harwell stated, it would’ve been a small sum with their 100 Billion Dollars they’ve stockpiled.
I have to agree with that, and wholeheartedly agree with the other statements in Ms. Stack’s report.
The Church is showing its true colors. They’re racist to the core. If they weren’t racist, they would’ve trashed their canon long ago. It’s indeed heart wrenching to see them travel around the world spreading their lies. It’s a patronizing display of evil.
In closing, I’m begging Mormons to stop, and think about the events in this scenario. Ask yourself, which god am I worshiping?
The God of the Bible isn’t racist beloved. Remember what He’s said in Acts, and Galatians!
Acts 17:26 “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation”.
Galatians 3:28-29 “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

With Love in Christ;
Michelle
Uh Oh, sounds like you were a naughty little spirit child in the pre-extistence…Michelle??? What did you do???😆
God is Not a racist. He created us…He loves us.
Actually, I don’t think 100 billion is enough to make up for all the lies and pain this church has caused over the years.
And speaking of which…I read the other day; and to put all the billions in perspective. It would take someone about 31 years just to count to 1 (one) billion.
Everyday the Mormon church seems to have another problem on it’s hands. Mormonism has always been known as unwelcoming to black people. Today’s internet is shedding light on the churches racist past. The Bible said this would happen. (Read John 1:4,5)
“In Him was life and that life was the light of mankind. The LIGHT SHINES IN DARKNESS AND THE DARKNESS HAS NOT OVERCOME IT.”
The dark secrets of Mormonism are being exposed by the Light, which is the Truth of Jesus Christ (John 14:6)
