“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”. 1 Timothy 2:5
Our post today is to bring attention to what God says in His word about the priesthood. We’ve listed what Brigham Young said about it, and compared it to truth.
We found a great explanation of the priesthood at GotQuestions.org we think will bless all those who read it! We pray you’ll share the info with a Mormon you know. This has to be one of the saddest lies this church tells.
There’s absolutely nothing we can do to earn our salvation, and we have to ask – which drop of Jesus’ blood wasn’t enough?
Discourses of Brigham Young, p. 201 “The Priesthood of the Son of God, which we have in our midst, is a perfect order and system of government, and this alone can deliver the human family from all the evils which now afflict its members, and insure them happiness and felicity hereafter. 13:242.
If anybody wants to know what the Priesthood of the Son of God is, it is the law by which the worlds are, were, and will continue for ever and ever. It is that system which brings worlds into existence and peoples them, gives them their revolutions—their days, weeks, months, years, their seasons and times and by which they are rolled up as a scroll, as it were, and go into a higher state of existence. 15:127” — Brigham Young
“Old Testament priests were chosen by God, not self-appointed; and they were chosen for a purpose: to serve God with their lives by offering up sacrifices. The priesthood served as a picture or “type” of the coming ministry of Jesus Christ–a picture that was then no longer needed once His sacrifice on the cross was completed. When the thick temple veil that covered the doorway to the Holy of Holies was torn in two by God at the time of Christ’s death (Matthew 27:51), God was indicating that the Old Testament priesthood was no longer necessary. Now people could come directly to God through the great High Priest, Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:14-16). There are now no earthly mediators between God and man as existed in the Old Testament priesthood (1 Timothy 2:5).”
With Love in Christ;
