May 24 — Consistent Follower. Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: But the word of our God shall stand for ever.”
_____
Today is a great day to ask yourself; ‘Am I consistently following Him?’ The question isn’t meant to dog on yourself, rather, it’s a question for the Lord. Ask Him if there’s anything in you that He’d like to change. You might be surprised by what He shows!
Our hypothetical question also serves as an example in the typical life of a consistent follower of Jesus.
The LDS reference today is the same question asked above, but it came from their prophet, Russell Nelson. The problem in his declaration is seen in their everyday life and the complete lack of trust in His word, which is a sign they don’t trust in Him.
A Christian’s daily life is filled with an ongoing conversation with the Lord as we navigate throughout the day. This is a sign of His supernatural power of His Holy Spirit working inside the believer. It’s heartbreaking for those who personally know a Mormon, and worse yet, for the Mormon as well. His Spirit doesn’t guide their daily life, so it is a struggle to remind themselves He’s in charge, and not their prophet they’ve been told to follow.

General Conference, “Hear Him”, April 2020 “As disciples of Jesus Christ, our efforts to hear Him need to be ever more intentional. It takes conscious and consistent effort to fill our daily lives with His words, His teachings, His truths.” — Russell M. Nelson
