Abiding in truth! Gen. 1:28; “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

Read the entire first three chapters of Genesis today. Notice the sequence of events as God unfolds the history of the first man and woman, and jot down anything the HS brings to your attention. Compare this with what it says in the Articles of Faith, written by LDS Apostle, James Talmage. Be sure to share your findings with the Mormon in your life. This discovery will give them something to ponder. When I was a Mormon and Christians did this with me, the questions they asked became part of my own list when I began investigating the Church. I didn’t have much to say when they asked for my opinion, but their insight stayed with me long afterwards.

“Adam said: “Blessed be the name of God, for because of my transgression my eyes are opened, and in this life I shall have joy, and again in the flesh I shall see God.” Eve was glad and declared: “Were it not for our transgression we never should have had seed, and never should have known good and evil, and the joy of our redemption, and the eternal life which God giveth unto all the obedient.”” Articles of Faith, p. 71, James Talmage.
As Michelle pointed out Adam and Eve were able to be “fruitful” prior to their disobedience.
The other thing we can understand from this is we are ALL sinners. It started with Adam and Eve; which shows we were all born with a sinful nature. No one can be perfect…ever. And so through God’s mercy and grace He sent us a Savior. His only begotten Son as a perfect and final sacrifice for our sins. Christ died so we may live.
