Journal of Discourses 3:265-266 “This revelation, which God gave to Joseph, was for the express purpose of providing a channel for the organization of tabernacles, for those spirits to occupy who have been reserved to come forth in the kingdom of God, and that they might not be obliged to take tabernacles out of the kingdom of God. …
Now if any of you will deny the plurality of wives, and continue to do so, I promise that you will be damned… …but the Saints who live their religion will be exalted…” —— Brigham Young, Provo, Utah, July 14, 1855.
2 Corinthians 6:17 “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you”.
Today we’re looking at the LDS reference above as a segue for a few posts in the coming days. The Church’s latest focus is to push the importance of revelation; personal and otherwise.
With the info above, we have to ask…
Where does Joseph’s revelation on polygamy fit into 21st century Mormonism? Are Mormons today damned because they don’t practice it?
As we’ll see over the next few days their leaders are proclaiming personal revelation and obedience are necessary to have a relationship with their god.
If their latest teachings are vitally important, what does this mean when their previous all-important message from the Mormon god is no longer in effect?
Don’t forget to pray for those who are buying into the Church’s lies!
With Love in Christ –
Michelle
