Ensign, ‘Revelation the Word of the Lord to His Prophets’, May 1977 “Of all things, that for which we should be most grateful today is that the heavens are indeed open and that the restored church of Jesus Christ is founded upon the rock of revelation. Continuous revelation is indeed the very lifeblood of the gospel of the living Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The foreverness of this kingdom and the revelations which it brought into existence are absolute realities. Never again will the sun go down; never again will all men prove totally unworthy of communication with their Maker. Never again will God be hidden from his children on the earth. Revelation is here to remain.” — Spencer W. Kimball [emp. added]
1 Corinthians 10:4 “And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.”
Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace”.
If Christ Jesus and Him crucified isn’t the lifeblood of faith in your church it’s time to start looking for another church.
As scripture has always proclaimed life is in the blood. On this side of the cross our faith is built upon the life Jesus gave when He spilt His blood on the cross for our sins. Oh beloved, there’s no other way to heaven but through accepting God’s mercy in giving us His Son.
Furthermore, the only rock we should build our faith upon is again, Jesus Christ. There are countless verses in the Bible that tells us those important truths.
While Mr. Kimball gave this talk in 1977, the doctrines of Mormonism are still the same. Their latest prophet is once again stressing the importance of revelation, but the only revelation that counts as far as they’re concerned is what comes from their pulpit.
Any personal revelation would denote a personal relationship with Jesus and this is never advocated because members lack authority to convey what God means. They’ve created a vicious cycle of deceit and confusion leading members away from Christ, not to Him.
Share with a Mormon you know what new thing you learned about Jesus today! Show them with demonstrative evidence through His word where you learned this.
You might be the first person who’s ever shown them how they can receive revelation!

Continuous revelation is the only way they can correct or justify past errors and false doctrine.
I find it interesting that new revelations from their prophet often have nothing to do with salvation or the Lord. Let’s have FHE on Tuesdays rather than Mondays (or whatever day of the week they decide). Let’s meet for church (if they ever will again) for three straight hours. Let’s shorten the garments. Let’s allow guests at sealings to wear their street garments in the temple. Let’s get rid of the protestant-type minister in the temple film. Let’s not require women to veil their faces in the temple. Let’s do whatever it takes to keep the tithing-payers happy. We don’t want to lose those precious dollars. Oh Lord, open their eyes, I pray.
AMEN, sister, AMEN!!!
