Bible Not Necessary
A Marvelous Work and a Wonder, p. 40 “…the everlasting gospel could not be discovered through reading the Bible alone… this is the only Christian church in the world that did not have to rely upon the Bible for its organization and government…if we had no Bible we would still have all the needed direction and information through the revelations of the Lord to his servants, the prophets in these latter days.” – LeGrand Richards
1 Corinthians 3:11 “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
Why.
Why would God not supply us with what we need to know? Why would He do such a thing to those He loves?
Psalm 119:11, 105“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
How.
How would we know if a prophet is telling us the truth without the Bible?
2 Peter 1:20“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.”
Be sure to share these truths with a Mormon today!

“He has magnified His Word above His own name.” (Psalms 138:2)
“Lay apart all superfluity of naughtiness and receive with Meekness the engrafted Word of God, which is able to save souls.” 9james 1:21)
“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and Truth.” (John 1:1, 14)
To say that you could get by without the Bible (Word), is to say that you could get by without Jesus Christ. This of course, coming from the mouth of a General Authority doesn’t surprise me. After all, Mormons do not believe that the shedding of Christ’s blood was ever quite enough to ensure the salvation of our souls (forgiveness of sin). Mormons believe that in addition to the blood of Christ, you must also serve the Mormon church. In order to be saved, a person must first join the Mormon church and then, perform all of the works that the Mormon church had deemed necessary for one’s salvation.
Deny the Word, minimize the Blood, glorify church leaders by obeying their every word. This is what salvation entails for the Mormon church.
