“Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.” 1 John 2:23
Today we’re looking at how the Church has gone out of its way to deny the real Jesus. One of the ways they’ve done this is by rejecting God’s promises.
Mormonism: Today’s Doubting Thomas
Ensign, Nov. 2007, p 40 “…our view of the Godhead breaks with post–New Testament Christian history…” – Jeffrey R. Holland
LDS Church News Week ending June 20, 1998, p. 7 “In bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, President Hinckley spoke of those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints ‘do not believe in the traditional Christ.’ ‘No, I don’t. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak. For the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times. He together with His Father, appeared to the boy Joseph Smith in the year 1820, and when Joseph left the grove that day, he knew more of the nature of God than all the learned ministers of the gospel of the ages.’”
Jeremiah 23:5-6 “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. 6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.”
1 Timothy 3:16 “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
John 13:13 “Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.”
As you can see in the LDS examples above, they’ve drawn a definitive line in the sand. There should be no doubt in the minds of LDS members that they’ve rejected God’s promises which by default includes the namesake of their so-called church as well.
Mormon leadership has repeatedly done this over the years; however, we’ll always be on our knees praying they repent!
Share the awesome promises with a Mormon you know, and ask for their opinion on what God has said versus what their leaders proclaim.
With Love in Christ —
Michelle
