“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29
General Conference, ‘Focus on Jesus Christ,’ April 2023 “Focusing on Jesus Christ through Covenants —— Our covenants help us focus our attention, our thoughts, and our actions on Christ. As we “cleave unto the covenants [we have] made,” we can more easily identify “the things of this world” that we should “lay aside” and “the things of a better [world]” we should diligently seek. … —“for we know that if we can be worthy of the presence of the Holy Ghost, we can also be worthy to live in the presence of Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.” — Milton R. Camargo, Sunday School Counselor
2 Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
Part of why Mr. Camargo’s talk at the April GC was so dangerous is because of the position he holds in the Church as a Sunday school counselor. If he’s saying the things he did at Conference one can only imagine what’s said in the hallways of the local wards.
In light of his talk we have a few questions/comments for Mr. Camargo.
1. How does someone focus on Jesus Christ while performing temple rituals?
2.Why hasn’t he used the Bible to remind members to focus on the Lord?
3.What covenants are needed to remember Jesus?
4.The job of the Holy Spirit living inside the believer helps keep us from sinning as Jesus told us in John 14:26. This means that secret covenant oaths have no place in the life of a true believer.
5.No one can ‘qualify for the Holy Ghost’. John 3:16 states that God gave His Son to redeem those who believe.
Please share the truth with the Mormon you know! Lovingly explain that cleaving unto Christ can only be accomplished by asking the Lord to forgive you and asking Him to live inside of you!
With Love in Christ —
