June 15 – God Alone Heals Us. Isaiah 53:4-5; “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

This brief passage in Isaiah is filled with promises of what Jesus has done for us!
Why would we look anywhere else, or to anyone else, for a partial, not to mention temporary healing?
Both The Teacher’s and Adam Clarke’s Commentaries respectively, explain what Jesus’ sufferings did for you and me in Isaiah this way;
He took our place, bearing our weaknesses and sorrows, moreover, our pacification brought us peace and favor with God. Mr. Clarke’s commentary noted the word pacification was definitively seen in 21 manuscripts in vs. 5, and in vs. 4 the word ‘he’ was before ‘carried our sorrows’. This Mr. Clarke noted, ‘adds force to the sense, and elegance to the construction’. Not only does Jesus carry the load for us when we’re in dire straits, God took pains to ensure we’d always know how much He loves us by keeping His word safe. This is an amazing God we have!
Be sure to share these things with a Mormon, and pray God will protect their hearts from accepting meaningless messages like the one we see today. Most moms are great, but in no way could they ever heal the souls of men.

“Are We Not All Mothers?” “No woman who understands the gospel would ever say, “I am just a mother,” for mothers heal the souls of men.” — Sheri L. Dew
