Alma 40:14 “Now this is the state of the souls of the wicked, yea, in darkness, and a state of awful, fearful looking for the fiery indignation of the wrath of God upon them; thus they remain in this state, as well as the righteous in paradise, until the time of their resurrection.”

Matthew 22:23 “The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say tat there is no resurrection, and asked him…”
Matthew 18:6 “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”

The first time we see the word “resurrection” in the Bible isn’t until the NT era c. 30 AD.
Why are they using this word in 74 BC?
Ask the Mormon you know for their opinion about this.
Most importantly, be sure you convey that you’re very concerned about their spiritual condition.
