March 8 — No Salvation in Rejecting the Fall. General Conference, ‘The Caravan Moves On’, October 1984 p. 109 “There is no salvation in a system of religion that rejects the doctrine of the Fall or that assumes man is the end product of evolution and so was not subject to a fall. True believers know that this earth and man and all forms of life were created in an Edenic, or paradisiacal, state in which there was no mortality, no procreation, no death.” — Bruce R. McConkie

Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned”.
_____
All have sinned…
This particular set of LDS doctrines is up there with the worst of things these people preach. There’s absolutely no excuse for Mr. McConkie’s lies. He was well versed in all things Mormon. As a child he would’ve been taught that Alma declared all sinners would be punished because of Adam and Eve’s sin.
Alma 42:1-2 “And now, my son, I perceive there is somewhat more which doth worry your mind, which ye cannot understand—which is concerning the justice of God in the punishment of the sinner; for ye do try to suppose that it is injustice that the sinner should be consigned to a state of misery. 2 Now behold, my son, I will explain this thing unto thee. For behold, after the Lord God sent our first parents forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground, from whence they were taken—yea, he drew out the man, and he placed at the east end of the garden of Eden, cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the tree of life—”
Furthermore, based on what we’ve seen thus far we know McConkie left out one of the most basic items of Mormon theology. The 2nd Article of Faith states that men didn’t inherit a sin nature.
“We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.”
How could people not be held accountable if their coveted BoM states otherwise? It seems that McConkie along with Joe Smith loved to confuse people. Remember the Lord said that what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart. Matthew 15:18
Please pray for Jesus to guard the hearts of Mormons and for them to stop and think about what they’re reading!

[…] No Salvation in Rejecting the Fall – Bruce McConkie […]
I believe that Joseph Smith was influenced and inspired by the nature and doctrine of original sin when he wrote the Book of Mormon. It does tend to read more from a Reformed Theological perspective rather than a “Restoration of a fulness of the Gospel”. Despite it being a work of 19th Century spiritual revivalists and itinerant preaching of Joseph Smith’s time.
