February 17 — Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 372 “The head God organized the heavens and the earth. I defy all the world to refute me. In the beginning the heads of the Gods organized the heavens and the earth. Now the learned priests and the people rage, and the heathen imagine a vain thing.”

Isaiah 45:18 “For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.” [emp. added]

I came across the verse in Isaiah while looking for a reference on another article. The first thing I thought of was Smith’s claim that gods organized the earth.
One thing that’s absolutely certain is how I wouldn’t want to be in Smith’s shoes. With everything he said about gods creating the earth and then calling God a heathen is just downright scary.
It seems Smith had no shame or worry about what he said. He also said that he defies the whole world to refute him.
Does that include the Lord God Almighty?
I just can’t imagine…
It’s clear that Mr. Smith hated the Lord. Why would he say such things if he loved God?
If you’re LDS what are your thoughts on what God said in Isaiah? What do you think about the things Joseph Smith taught?
We’re praying you search the Bible and see how God never contradicts himself!
If you’re a Christian, please pray for Mormons to see God as He truly is!
With Love in Christ —
