‘Have we seen Christ’s star? Let us study to give him honour.’ – Matthew Henry

Matthew 2:11 “And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.”

Today we’re looking at a couple of things about the gifts the three men from the east presented to the Messiah. This is something I’ve always wanted to study, and with the latest Mormon publication of the Liahona, it got me moving now!

As you’ll recall, the Mormon prophet invited Mormon children to follow Jesus through the maze of a labyrinth. How that had anything to do with Jesus is still a mystery to us here at the ministry…in the meantime, we decided to get this on the site to provide the truth as a rebuttal to that horrific platitude Mr. Monson offered.

Mortal Messiah 1:330 “As far as this life is concerned, [Jesus] was born of Mary and of Elohim; he came here as an offspring of that Holy Man who is literally our Father in heaven. Luke 2:11-14; “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

jesus-birthplaceDeep within the covers of the Book of Mormon, a verse from the Church’s canon tells a lie about the birthplace of Jesus. Since its original publication in 1830, friend and foe alike have commiserated over the incorrect info, and the Church has provided one excuse after another trying to explain away the elephant in the room.

Today we’re looking at one of those excuses, and providing a map of Israel at the time Jesus lived there. First thing’s first though! The Bible tells us Jesus was born in Bethlehem.

Matthew 2:5-6; “And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, 6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.”
