“Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.” Leviticus 26:1

 Today we’re taking a look at the outside architecture of the original Nauvoo Temple. Whenever I see pictures of it, I can’t help but wonder what people must’ve thought as they looked at the thirty scary sunstone faces encircling the top of that building. They also saw another one up close and personal, sitting at the front door.

Why weren’t members of the Church repulsed at these carvings when God’s word clearly tells us not to do such things?! (more…)
