With the advent of the Church’s latest invention of the Missionary Worthiness Interview, we thought it’d behoove readers to take a quick look at just some of the ‘must-do’s’ in Mormonism.

All of these interviews should be a concern for any, if not all Mormons. Some of the questions, however, border on the scary side.

Why is the Church asking its members if they sympathize with friends/relatives who oppose the Church?

Why is this any business of the Church?

If you’re LDS, does this concern you at all? Why, or why not?

As an example of what I call their ‘strong arm tactics’, there have been times when my own mother will start questioning me about what I do. The extent of our conversations in this regard is rather limited as her reaction to my answers, and subsequent questions of my own, places major stumbling blocks on carrying our discussions much past that point. My question is always the same: why is the Church pressuring you for info on my activities?

My mother is a people pleaser, so she’ll try to fulfill any and all requirements expected of her, even if that means questioning me on why I’m out to get the Church. Sigh…

Personally, I find it intrusive, and another method of how the Church controls its members. I just can’t imagine Jesus doing stuff like this, and that’s usually where our conversations go when it comes to this topic.

I’m certain I’m not the only person with this experience, and serves as another reason why I’m constantly asking our Christian friends to pray for those caught in such predicaments.

Other questions in their ‘worthiness interviews’ also reveals a control issue that’s taking place. Sadly, members of the Church never question these things because they’re told not to do so.
