I have to say it’s always an interesting day when the LDS Church builds a new temple. The link below will take you to a quick little video of how the new temple will look. One of our volunteers alerted me to look closely at the graphic when the video gets to 1:58. Take a close look at the front door my friends! Is that a cross???

To say that we’re shocked would be an understatement so we’re coming back with more on this subject later…
The one thing that keeps coming back to mind is what the Church has said in the past about this subject.
Answers to Gospel Questions 4:17; “To many, like the writer, such a custom is repugnant and contrary to the true worship of our Redeemer. Why should we bow down before a cross or use it as a symbol? Because our Savior died on the cross, the wearing of crosses is to most Latter-day Saints in very poor taste and inconsistent to our worship.”
If any of you have thoughts or comments we’d love to hear from you!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
1 Corinthians 1:18; “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”
Mormons don’t hate crosses. I am a Mormon and I love seeing crosses. I have lots of friends that wear crosses. They are so pretty. They are symbolic. To them They represent Jesus . I truly respect them for having faith. Just because we don’t put a cross on our temple doesn’t mean we hate them. I really love my friends especially the ones that wear crosses.
Hi Gary. In all love, I hope your naïveté is genuine and not just all-too-common Mormon prevaricating. Please do a Google search of ‘LDS cross’ and see the hateful things McConkie, Joseph F. Smith, McKay and other GAs have said about the Cross. The New Testament writers mention the *cross* (not the Garden, which is unique to Mormonism) over and over again. The Gethsemene/Calvary distinction is not hair splitting if you know your Bible.
