This was originally posted in April 2011 and we thought you’d like to take a look at the voting results!
Well here we are again talking about Romney and the campaign for the highest office in the United States of America. Mr. Romney announced that he has officially put an exploratory committee together to look into the possibility of running.
If you’d like some insight as to what this guy believes just take a look around our site here and it’ll give you a good idea. Should we be voting for someone like this to run the most powerful country in the world?
What if the Mormon prophet/president had a revelation to bring back polygamy? In order for Mr. Romney to obtain salvation he would have to obey.
In the last run for the presidency, Mike Huckabee correctly questioned the Jesus of Mormonism being the brother of Lucifer. Mr. Romney’s response was to skirt the issue and talk his way around it. One has to wonder why he wouldn’t admit this can be found in the LDS scripture Moses 5:13. http://lifeafterministry.com/2011/01/13/jesus-and-lucifer-brothers/
Whoever holds the position of the President deserves our honest respect and prayers. But we have to ask…what would you do if Mitt Romney decides to run for President of the United States of America?
Looks like he’s getting that much closer to throwing his temple cap into the ring. He’s even created a committee.

The real question is would you vote to re-elect President Obama or vote for Romney. Given the reality this is likely to be your choice, or would you vote for a man of little morals like Trump for Rep candidate? The question is who can defeat Obama, if that person is Romney, then what are you going to do? If you choose not to vote for Romney because of his religion, are you not lowering yourselves to the level of those who will not vote for an evangelical candidate?
In any case President Obama thanks you for helping split the Republican party over faith issues and reassuring his second 4 years as President.
Sorry to disagree with you on this but I’m not at fault for dividing the Republican party over faith issues.
I cannot imagine giving my vote to someone who believes they can become a polygamous god someday or that true salvation is found through the Mormon Church and godhood status.
Would I vote for Obama? No.
I am not so much concerned about whether or not I’m “lowering myself” to anyone’s standards. God and His agenda is my standard.
When November 2012 rolls around I’ll be voting on issues that I find to be important to me as a Christian, wife and mom.
I can’t support someone who thinks of women the way Mormons do and I can’t vote for someone who believes abortion is the right of a woman – what about the person being aborted? Don’t they have rights?
This is good that we can discuss the issues and feel free to voice opinions – praise God!
Hopefully others will join in as well!

You say,
Let me just disagree with you here. Mitt Romney would not be able to accomplish this. It would have to go through congress first, and the vast majority of Republicans and Democrats in congress (i think it’s safe to say) are against polygamy. Even if he wanted to get such a thing done, it wouldn’t happen.
Yeah, I would probably vote for Romney. I did before in the 2008 Republican primary.. I am not crazy about the Mormon church at all (as you know from reading my posts i linked to you), but I don’t let a person’s personal religious views affect my decision.
In my understanding, similar fears were voiced about John F. Kennedy since he was Catholic. But he never came close to letting the Pope govern us.
Catholic’s don’t go into temple ceremonies where they take oaths, and seal it
by assimilating slitting their throats either, Romney on the other hand did.
Make no mistake should Romney become President his allegiance will not be to the office of President of the United States but to the Mormon Church.
Even if that were so, he would still have to go through congress to get Pro-Mormon legislation through. That just won’t happen. Even if he did get it passed through congress, the supreme court would strike it down as unconstitutional.
I just don’t see it happening.
Mitt Romney is a flip flopper. So we know he will bring back polygamy. Its comming.
I sure hope I don’t have to decide between a man who has a 3rd world mentality and man who says whatever the voters want to hear to get elected.
Please check out the book “The Reason Behind Obama’s Rage”
Also check out past comments from Mit Romney on abortion and health care.
Also read, “One Nation Under Gods”… the LDS have been trying to get someone into the white house since their beginning…
We had to have a Carter to get a Reagan…
Cain/Gingrich
Gingrich/Cain
Either combination works for me.
If Mitt Romney get in the White House he will be obligated to give Warren Jeff a pardon. Mormons have unity.
Warren Jeff isn’t a Mormon.
Warren Jeffs was just following what the Prophet Joseph Smith said Mormon men should do.
But back to Mit… Let’s see;
He was Pro-Abortion / then he wasn’t. Says he is pro-life (except for instances of rape, incest, or health of the mother)
He signed into law Same Sex Marriage as Gov of Mass / Yet says that he is for traditional (or Natural) marriage.
He endorsed, signed into law, and still defends Government run Healthcare
Discoveriggrace;
I believe that you have no idea of what you are talking about. You need to get a grip, and ask thru prayer Heavenly Father if what you are spuing is the truth. You have no idea or conscept of what you are talking about and you are very ignorant.
Ron –

As a Mormon, I would like to explain some things. Family is the key to understanding the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother. Together they have given birth to children with spiritual bodies. Everything created is first created spiitually, including our earth and all that dwell on it. Now I had a near death experience and let me tell you, you can’t do anything physically like simply opening a blind. I realized how important these bodies of ours were. We also realized this when we lived with our parents in Heaven. We saw our parents with beautiful graceful bodies and how they were able to do so many things that we could not, so we too wanted to have bodies, so a plan was needed. We know it as the plan of salvation and exaltation. There were many great spirits that stood before us that day that wanted to be a part of helping us as brothers and sisters to accompish the plan. Jehovah or Jesus was there. Michael/Adam was there. Gabriel/Noah was there. So many were there, including Lucifer that we know as the great Satan. Two plans were put forth. In the first plan Jesus would come to the earth to be born, to live a sinless life, to restore the gospel, to die for our sins and to be the first fruit of the resurrection, We would be given the light of Christ, knowing good from and evil, keeping our free agency to decide for ourselves how we would live our lives, If we sinned but repented, We could be forgiven and permitted back into the prescence of our Heavenly Parents. Christ would pay the price for our sins, giving our Father all the glory. This plan, Heavenly Father approved. Now Lucifer wanted this glory for himself and his plan was to force us to obey every commandment and law, taking away our free agency. This plan, Heavenly Father did not approve. There insued a war in Heaven, a war of words, which caused our Father to cast out Lucifer and one third of the host of heaven. They have become the sons and daughters of perdition, never having the opportunity to receive a body nor return home to heaven. Their mission now is as our adversary, wanting to rob and destroy every joy and happiness we have. We’re told to discern between the spirits. Our thoughts create feelings and we act upon those. We should always ask the questions, is this a positive, righteous or good thought. If so, go for it. If your thoughts are negative, unrighteous and evil, then you need to recompute your brain with good stuff, like prayers, hymns and scriptures. Also, when you pray, you only need ask your father about the situation in a yes or no form. If it is right and true, he will cause the Holy Spirit to burn within your bossom and your mind will be enlivened with greats ideas. If the answer is no, your mind want be able to concentrate on it and you will find yourself thinking about other things. In Romans 8:16-17 we read, “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirits, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if it so be that we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.” In 1Peter 2:9 we read, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him that hath called you out of darkness into the marvelous light.” In Rev 5:10, 12 we read, “And hast made unto our God king and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” Every worthy male from the age of 12 should receive the priesthood, Again, it is all about family. Our Father and Savior are Gods. Our Savior is a king. He is promised all these great blessings, and we are heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ. We too shall be blessed. If your earthly father and mother were a king and queen, then you would be born a prince or princess and eventially become king or queen. We are the literal sons and daughters of God, and if we live the kind of iives that we are taught, then we too can one day return home as gods. Thou hast been faithful over a few things. I will make thee ruler over many things.
Whew!!!
I used to beleive that stuff too… I was born into the church and raised knowing and beleiving all of that. Have you seen the play, “Saturday’s Warrior”? I saw it live on stage when I was a youngster…
What you left out of the story is that 1/3 of the “spirit children” did not fight on either side and/or not as valiantly for Jesus so they were destined to be born as Negroes. Whose spiritual blessings are less than those of the white race. The blacks couldn’t hold the priesthood because of this. I was told that I fought valiantly on Jesus’ side because 1.) I was born white. 2.) I was born in America. and 3.) I was born to LDS parents. I had the tri-fecta!
We (the whore of Babylon) Christians are accused of believing pagan doctrines conceived by the Roman church… Do you really believe that we have a “Mother in Heaven”? The Bible does mention the “queen of heaven” in Jeremiah 44… read that chapter. Not good…
I had always pledged my allegience to the LDS church and never was taught or even knew that I could have a real, personal relationship with Jesus. I used to bear my testimony that the church was true and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that Jesus had died for my sins. It was like repetition because I had been taught to say that since I was a wee lad in Primary. But I had never asked Him to give me a new heart, to indwell me with the Holy Spirit, or to be the Lord of my life. I came to realize that when compared with Biblical Christianity, Mormonism had a thin veneer of Christianity with mythological and even pagan doctrines.
“Mother in Heaven”? “Polytheism”? “Masonic-like Temple Rituals”? “Blacks inferior to the white and delightsome”? “Christ’s Blood doesn’t cover all sins”? “Bible not the inerrent Word of God”? “Plural Marriage”? “God left His “children” in darkness for 1800 years”? “Jesus was married to several women”? “Jesus a created being”? “Working our way to Godhood”? “God once a man as myself”? “God could lose His support from the other Gods and cease to be God”?
What is all of that about? Jesus said there are only 2 commandments that we need to obey… Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength / Love your neighbor as yourself. What do all of the works and “strange doctrines” have to do with loving God and loving your neighbor?
He is my God, His ways are Higher than my ways. His thoughts are Higher than my thoughts. I am subject to Him… does the servant know everything about the master? His ways are unsearchable and His paths beyond tracing out.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life! No church, organization, set of rules, ordinances, temple visits, good works, or tithing will make God Love us more. Believe in your heart that He is our Savior, turn from your life of sin, and draw nearer to Him. It’s so simple, but mankind makes it so complicated.
“For if we or an angel from heaven come preaching a different gospel, let him be eternally damned”. (Galatians 1:8)
“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” (2 Cor. 11:14)
We will be praying for you and your family… Have a very Blessed Christmas!
I live in AZ which is pretty much run by Mormons. The amount of bigotry, and lack of support for the poor and helpless in this state is appaling. We are ranked 49th in education. Want a Mormon president. Look at AZ statistics and see what you’ll get. They are white, close-minded, ultra-conservative bigots who will destroy the country. And their church tells them exactly what to do and how to vote.
C. Lazar – They are the largest corporation West of the Rocky Mountains… Check out this tid-bit on Mit’s extended family and roots…
As a Christan, I feel that it is my responsilbility NOT to vote for Mitt Romney. Everyone is influenced by their religion in their job, as well as, all other parts of their lives. It is difficult to separate the two (private/public life).
As a result of his Mormonism, his decisions would be dependent on the oaths that he made in the temple. That is his first allegiance.
Amen!
I distinctly recall as a Mormon that I lived my life as a Mormon first, then an American, then a wife, mom, daughter, etc…
That Mormon pull to be loyal to the Church first runs paramount to everything else and while I can appreciate that he loves America and wants to serve the country those oaths he took in the temple come long before the oaths he’d be taking in DC if he were elected POTUS.
Michelle – As you know from my testimony, when I called the Bishop of my ward and asked for my name to be removed from their records, he said, “Once a Mormon, always a Mormon”. Like that is how we are identified…
Scenario…
“What do you believe?” “Me?, I believe in the Southern Baptist church…”
Doesn’t that sound so silly?
Amen brother!!
evan there bishops are learning the truth and leaving the church
Never trusted Mormons, never will trust a mormon President.
