Book of Mormon is “Keystone to Our Religion”
Ezra Taft Benson, “The Book of Mormon—Keystone of Our Religion,” Ensign, Nov 1986, 4; “There are three great reasons why Latter-day Saints should make the study of the Book of Mormon a lifetime pursuit.
The first is that the Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion. This was the Prophet Joseph Smith’s statement. He testified that “the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion” (Introduction to the Book of Mormon). A keystone is the central stone in an arch. It holds all the other stones in place, and if removed, the arch crumbles.”
2 Peter 2:18-19; “For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.”
The keystone of a Christian’s life is Jesus. The Book of Mormon has proven itself to be a false word from a false god based upon the number of changes made to it. Like I’ve said countless times before; take away the Book of Mormon and you have no religion.
The Book of Mormon has never been proven false, and never will be.
As to the Keystone; it is the keystone, for Christ is the Corner stone. He is the foundation, the rock upon which if a man build he will not fall when the tempests come. However, if a man does not properly build it may fall anyway, which is why we have a keystone.
If Christ is your keystone, then what is your cornerstone?
I am on the road and thought I would check in…
Jesus is my Rock and my Foundation!!!
I agree. So what is the problem with calling the Book of Mormon our Keystone?
I guess cause us “apostate” Christians believe that the Bible is the only true Word of God. It is God breathed and contains everything that we need to know … It is a love letter to us from God.
It tells us, “Who Jesus is and how we can be saved”

We would say similar things concerning the Book of Mormon, just omitting the part of it being the only word.
Basically, for you, the complaint boils down to we believe in additional scripture, and yet the article given wants to suggest that we somehow place the Book of Mormon is a place of greater importance than Christ, which is what I was commenting on.
I understand what you say concerning the Bible, though I don’t think it is a dilemma, as the Bible never says it is the only true word. However, to use this idea of the Keystone to try and pass off the false idea that the LDS hold the Book of Mormon in a higher place than Christ is annoying.
