Where is God in Your Life?
General Conference, Apr. 2012; “Melchizedek Priesthood holders who are fathers in sealed families have been taught what they must do. There is nothing that has come or will come into your family as important as the sealing blessings. There is nothing more important than honoring the marriage and family covenants you have made or will make in the temples of God.” —President Henry B. Eyring, Families under Covenant
John 14:5-6; “Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Oswald Chambers once asked “Are you on your way to Jerusalem with Jesus”?
That question has guided my actions on many occasions. Jesus knew what He had to do. He had come for the very purpose of walking into Jerusalem to fulfill His mission for the Father. He was the sacrifice each of us is in need of and yet we’re reluctant at times to throw caution to the wind and follow Him – exclusively.
Where in the Mormon guidance from a man who was supposedly called of God do you find anything to do with Jesus or Jerusalem? Why are sealing ordinances the epitome of what you must do in life? Isaiah 64:6 says our works are as filthy rags and everything we do will fade as a leaf – our iniquities, like the wind, has taken us away…
Are you on your way to Jerusalem not just today, but right this moment?
