Joseph Smith’s Revelations
Discourses of Brigham Young, pg 461; “Joseph continued to receive revelation upon revelation, ordinance upon ordinance, truth upon truth, until he obtained all that was necessary for the salvation of the human family. All the inhabitants of the earth are called of God; they are called to repent and be baptized for the remission of sins. 16:42.”
John 11:26; “And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.”
It’s odd Jesus never mentioned anything about ol’ Joe in His sermons or directives. You’d think if Smith was that important he’d at least get a shout out or honorary mention of some sort.
Jesus was clear about how to get saved. Believe in Him. And yes, if you’re going to be a follower you’ll want to be baptized, but that’s because of the Holy Spirit’s supernatural power working in you to change your disposition. It’s because of His works, His doing, His mercy, His love. Nothing to do with salvation has to do with us except that we’re the recipient.
After 6,000+ years of working with the Israelites, the 613 laws instituted that man must follow to obtain salvation and the whole thing with providing the perfect sacrifice of Jesus, don’t you think God used all those events and time to show how to get saved? Why would he keep dragging people along like that? This behavior doesn’t match up with God’s character in the past.
