Self-fulfilling Prophecy of Joseph in BoM
2 Nephi 3:14-15; “And thus prophesied Joseph, saying: Behold, that seer will the Lord bless; and they that seek to destroy him shall be confounded; for this promise, which I have obtained of the Lord, of the fruit of my loins, shall be fulfilled. Behold, I am sure of the fulfilling of this promise; 15 And his name shall be called after me; and it shall be after the name of his father. And he shall be like unto me; for the thing, which the Lord shall bring forth by his hand, by the power of the Lord shall bring my people unto salvation.”
Deut. 13:1-3; “If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.”
How plausible is it someone in the Book of Mormon by the name of Joseph would prophesy to such exact detail about Joseph Smith and Joseph’s father? What other prophet from the Old Testament prophesied like this?
This Nephite named Joseph actually uttered a false prophecy in this section. Exactly who was confounded? The answer is no one. There is no proof, there are no recorded testimonies of anyone coming forth stating they were confounded.
Why is Joseph Smith the one who brings salvation to the people?
Doesn’t that job belong to Jesus?
