Name of God
The next time you have an opportunity to share with your Mormon friends and loved ones ask them about their Heavenly Father’s family.
What is the name of the Mormon’s Heavenly Father’s dad?
Did they go through all the endowments & ordinances?
Did they have temples like the Mormon temples we see today?
Why isn’t this talked about in Mormon scripture?
The Mormon Heavenly Father has the name of “Elohim”. This god is an exalted man of flesh and bones (D&C 130:22) who also had a father, who had a father, who had a father….
If all these resurrected exalted men serve as the example of what Mormons are aspiring to why aren’t their names in the annals of Mormon history?
Not all Mormon prophets have held to the traditional Mormon view of God the Father. Brigham Young taught that “Adam was the father of the spirits of mankind in addition to being the first procreator of mankind’s physical bodies; that Adam came to this earth as a resurrected and exalted being; that he ‘fell’ to a mortal state of existence in order to procreate mortal bodies; and that Adam was the spiritual and physical father of Jesus Christ.” (David John Buerger, Dialogue, Vol.15, No.1, p.45) This doctrine has been denounced by subsequent Mormon leaders as a deadly, damnable heresy.
