John 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

Alma 31:15 “Holy, holy God; we believe that thou art God, and we believe that thou art holy, and that thou wast a spirit, and that thou art a spirit, and that thou wilt be a spirit forever.”

Doctrine and Covenants 130:22 “The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.” — Joseph Smith, April 1843

Today we’ve listed God’s word first as a reminder the measure of truth comes from God and none else.

If a Mormon were to search for a description of their god, they’re going to find a number of problems. Is their god an exalted man, or a spirit? The Book of Mormon states he’s a spirit, but their founder Joe Smith, said he’s an exalted man. (more…)

Name of God

Mormon Decisions 10The next time you have an opportunity to share with your Mormon friends and loved ones ask them about their Heavenly Father’s family.

What is the name of the Mormon’s Heavenly Father’s dad?

Did they go through all the endowments & ordinances?

Did they have temples like the Mormon temples we see today?

Why isn’t this talked about in Mormon scripture?

The Mormon Heavenly Father has the name of “Elohim”. This god is an exalted man of flesh and bones (D&C 130:22) who also had a father, who had a father, who had a father….

If all these resurrected exalted men serve as the example of what Mormons are aspiring to why aren’t their names in the annals of Mormon history?
