The Promised Messiah, pg 33; “Where there are prophets, salvation is available; and where there are no prophets, there is no hope of salvation. It is no wonder that Lucifer hates prophets and seeks their destruction.” – Bruce McConkie
Romans 10:9-10; “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
While prophets in the Old Testament were important, they didn’t provide salvation then anymore than they do now. There is nothing that can save anyone except Christ Jesus and Him crucified!
And lest we forget there’s also Hebrews 7:25; “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
The author of Hebrews didn’t feel compelled to state that prophets were mandatory for salvation either and you’ll find the same message throughout all of the Bible. No one other than God can save us and remember God doesn’t need those He created in order to save anyone.
