Millennial Star Vol. 5, No. 8, January 1845, pg 117; “This Church has been led by revelation, and unless we forsake the Lord entirely, so that the priesthood is taken from us, it will be led by revelation all the time. The question arises with some, who has the right to revelation?…Every member has the right of receiving revelation for himself…It is the very life of the Church of the living God, in all ages of the world.” – Brigham Young
Ephesians 5:23; “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.”
Problem #1 – Jesus should be the one running a church, not men and their revelations.
Problem #2 – the LDS Church hasn’t received any revelations from God since 1978 and even that’s questionable given the circumstances. Accepting blacks into the priesthood was more of coercion from outsiders to do it or else than it was a revelation from God.
Prooblem #3 – Not every member is really allowed their own revelation. If they receive a revelation from God that something’s wrong with the Church that person is deemed out of line if or when they question the prophet. Moreover, when they leave they become an apostate. The revelations they’re allowed to have and accept are those that confirm the validity of the Church.
Is the Church operating under priesthood authority today if they’re not receiving revelations?
