Young Women Manual 2, “Lesson 29: Exaltation,” p. 108; “What blessings await those who live worthy of exaltation? (Godhood, having all things subject to them, having angels subject to them, having all power, living with Jesus.) Point out that just as Jesus Christ was promised all that the Father has, we can also receive all power and dominion, becoming creators of other spirits and other worlds.”
Romans 1:20-25; “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”
What happened to the internal moral compass God instilled each of us with? For the Mormon this internal knowing that God is God and there are no other gods is missing – and no, I don’t believe they ‘were born that way’.
The apostle Paul delivered his theological treatise to fellow Jewish believers who were living in Rome to warn them that judging others when they were guilty of the very things they condemned others for wasn’t overlooked by God.
What I’ve zeroed in on since my discovery of this passage is what Paul said in vss. 20-25 and how his warning can aptly fit into the Mormon lifestyle and/or teachings.
These Mormon women seem to have no clue they won’t become goddesses on another planet or that their future won’t include eternal pregnancies. Ed Decker and I wrote a paper on this a few years back called ‘The Making of Mormon Spirit Babies’ which is an insightful look at the logistics of how their logic is misguided and just flat out wrong!
I was telling Melissa that at the end of my life in Mormonism I found myself praying God would send me to hell if it meant that I’d be eternally pregnant. The thought of having to always be pregnant was not an appealing ideal for me personally as it brought a lot of health problems with each child I carried – and there were a lot of them. I had seven babies with six pregnancies in ten years. I was basically prostituting myself for a false god and his false temple.
At the end of that saga I was physically, emotionally and spiritually drained – only two of the babies survived to adulthood. I suffered the loss of my twins (both boys), two midterm miscarriages and a stillborn daughter. Praise God I have two grown daughters, but the process in my ‘work’ was misguided and I base that upon the principles of what’s in our example today. This is how I used to think, how I was raised and what I learned by sitting in Mormon classes for 18+ years. This type of thinking is ingrained into girls’ psyche from birth into adulthood and we have proof of this in our example above.
Not once did I ponder what it’d be like to create other worlds or to give birth to a savior of that world and in essence this is what they’re teaching!
Why is sex such an integral portion of their ‘gospel’?
Does the Bible reflect the same? By engaging in such godless behavior they’ve rejected Jesus.
On this ‘Mother’s Day’ let’s rejoice the Lord gave us moms who love us and reject the LDS notion of being a mom for eternity on other planets!
