Doctrine and Covenants 121:46; “The Holy Ghost shall be thy constant companion, and thy scepter an unchanging scepter of righteousness and truth; and thy dominion shall be an everlasting dominion, and without compulsory means it shall flow unto thee forever and ever.”
Doctrine and Covenants 130:23; “A man may receive the Holy Ghost, and it may descend upon him and not tarry with him.”
General Conference, ‘Strengthening Faith and Testimony’, October 2013; “Some might ask, ‘Why doesn’t the inspiration come more easily and quickly? ’ The Lord taught Oliver Cowdery, ‘You must study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right.’ Conference messages come to us after prayerful preparation, through the Holy Ghost…To the young members of the Church, I promise that if you will listen, you will feel the Spirit well up within you. The Lord will tell you what He wants you to do with your life.” — Robert D. Hales, Apostle
John 14:16-18; “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you”.
The lies of the Church just keep on giving. Let’s review –
1.Joseph Smith prophesied the Holy Ghost would never leave in D&C 121 – March 20, 1839.
2. Joseph Smith prophesied the Holy Ghost doesn’t stick around all the time in D&C 130 – April 2, 1843.
3. The apostle Robert Hales told everyone at General Conference the Holy Ghost gives inspiration to members after the leaders have spoken. He then reminded the youth the Holy Ghost will tell them what he wants them to do with their lives. This is an unmistakable teaching that obedience to leaders must precede the HS’s help – October 2013.
4.Then there’s Jesus! Notice His unequivocal teaching – The HS will dwell inside the believer. The HS will abide w/ us forever. Jesus won’t leave us comfortless (as in orphaned).
Why would we need the HS if the Church tells us what we need to know?
Whose teaching is correct here? Is it Jesus’ promise and words of comfort?
Robert Hales who instructed Mormons to obey and listen to the leaders?
Or Joseph Smith’s dire warning with his god’s contradictions the HS will always be around, but can desert us at any given moment?
