Doctrines of Salvation 1:114; “The fall of man came as a blessing in disguise, and was the means of furthering the purposes of the Lord in the progress of man, rather than a means of hindering them.” – Joseph Fielding Smith
2 Nephi 2:23, 25; “And they would have had no children; wherefore they would have remained in a state of innocence, having no joy, for they knew no misery; doing no good, for they knew no sin. 25 Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.”
Moses 5:11; “And Eve, his wife, heard all these things and was glad, saying: Were it not for our transgression we never should have had seed, and never should have known good and evil, and the joy of our redemption, and the eternal life which God giveth unto all the obedient.”
Isaiah 5:20; “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
We’ve focused on these LDS resources before, but when I came across the passage in Isaiah this morning during my prayer and devotional time my heart sank as I was reminded of the folly in LDS teachings.
As a human born with a carnal nature I don’t believe it’s possible to appreciate the full weight of how awful my condition truly was before I met my Lord. However, I do know when I was granted the gift of repentance my heart began to soften for the first time in my life.
The totality of how exasperatingly wrong Mormonism is can only be quantified by simply stating that every single Mormon doctrine and teaching has been turned on its proverbial head. I’ve yet to find even one independent doctrine or teaching that’s theologically sound. To that end this has to be near the very top of how awful their ideology really is.
To even insinuate, let alone so blatantly pronounce, that Adam and Eve rejoiced in their mess sends chills up my spine and how or why they’d believe such a horror story is heartbreaking.
Dr. Ron Carlson told me years ago this dogma is called dualism. Dualism is the belief that evil and good must coexist in order to sustain themselves and is a form of witchcraft, aka neo-paganism.
I’m of the opinion that the average Mormon is so caught up in their day-to-day routines they’ve not realized they should have stopped to consider God’s thoughts about their basic tenets. Would God need Satan to fulfill His purposes and if so then why? What type of god would need evil things or entities outside of himself if he’s a holy god?
Who but the father of lies would drum up such a scenario to trick mankind? This lie is the ‘oldest trick in the book’ as they say and regrettably, the oldest lie of Satan is the central edict of the Mormon gospel.
