Omni 1:21; “And they gave an account of one Coriantumr, and the slain of his people. And Coriantumr was discovered by the people of Zarahemla; and he dwelt with them for the space of nine moons.”
Alma 36:10; “And it came to pass that I fell to the earth; and it was for the space of three days and three nights that I could not open my mouth, neither had I the use of my limbs”.
2 Timothy 3:16; “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”.
In 1775 James Adair wrote a book called “A History of the American Indians” that used some very specific phrases. Two of those were ‘…for the space of four moons…’ on page 125 and ‘…for the space of three days and nights…’ found on page 122.
It just so happens the BoM contains those very phrases! Now what are the odds of that happening?!
The Church has said that when Joseph put his face in a hat a word would appear and it wouldn’t disappear until they had written that exact word down properly.
Another version of the translation process tells us that Joseph was afforded the liberty to use his local vernacular to translate the plates from Reformed Egyptian into English.
The problem with the last scenario is that people in the 19th century weren’t using 1611 KJV English. The other problem with that possibility is found in the way Smith ‘borrowed’ phrases and whole chapters of work from previously published writings.
The problem with the first scenario is this; why would God plagiarize others or even Himself for that matter.
