Juvenile Instructor, Vol. 29, No. 5, April 15, 1894, p 263; “…Tis recorded in your journal How you stood by Father’s side, when by pow’rs that are eternal thou wast sealed His goddess bride…”
Judges 10:6; “And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the LORD, and served not him.”
Manasseh did many evil things in God’s eyes by allowing all sorts of pagan and false gods to be adored and worshiped in Israel. At one point he even put a carved Asherah pole in the temple – 2 Kings 21:7. Instead of questioning this man’s motives Israel blindly followed along and did much of the same after the death of Joshua – Judges 2:13, 3:7.
Today we see history repeating itself with Asherah. She has a new name this time around and is known by ‘Heavenly Mother’ by Mormons worldwide.
The LDS hymn noted above was written by Eliza Roxcy Snow (Joseph Smith’s widow) and endorsed by the Church then and now.
The belief in a goddess wife is fundamental in Mormonism. While rejecting Biblical doctrines and God’s clear teaching that He alone is God, they’ve systematically turned their backs on Him and have chosen to sing hymns to a nameless goddess wife of an unknown god.
How women fell for that – just too incredible – and proves yet again the gullibility of women (who now elect all our presidents) dating back to Eve. And I can say that, as a woman!
