“The Fullness of the Gospel”; “The Book of Mormon contains the most lucid and complete explanation of the atonement of Christ and therefore clearly qualifies as containing the fulness of the gospel. Of particular importance in explaining the atonement are chapters 2 and 9 of 2 Nephi, Mosiah 15, and chapters 34 and 42 of Alma.” – John A. Tvedtnes [emp. mine]
D&C 20:9; “Which contains a record of a fallen people, and the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles and to the Jews also”.
Doctrine and Covenants 27:5; “Behold, this is wisdom in me; wherefore, marvel not, for the hour cometh that I will drink of the fruit of the vine with you on the earth, and with Moroni, whom I have sent unto you to reveal the Book of Mormon, containing the fulness of my everlasting gospel, to whom I have committed the keys of the record of the stick of Ephraim”.
D&C 42:12; “And again, the elders, priests and teachers of this church shall teach the principles of my gospel, which are in the Bible and the Book of Mormon, in the which is the fulness of the gospel.”
Doctrine and Covenants 135:3; “Joseph Smith…has sent the fulness of the everlasting gospel, which it contained, to the four quarters of the earth…”
Joseph Smith History 1:34; “He said there was a book deposited, written upon gold plates, giving an account of the former inhabitants of this continent, and the source from whence they sprang. He also said that the fulness of the everlasting Gospel was contained in it, as delivered by the Savior to the ancient inhabitants”.
Galatians 1:9; “As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
If the Book of Mormon contains the “fullness of the everlasting gospel” why do they have additional works?
If the BoM does contain the ‘fulness of the gospel’ then why isn’t there any mention of the Passover of any of the other feasts and festivals?
If the BoM contains the ‘fulness of the gospel’ why isn’t plural marriage, families are forever, baptisms for the dead, temple weddings, temple recommends, mandatory 10% of gross income for tithing, or sealings mentioned?
Why are these things only mentioned in Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price and the latest edition of the Ensign? Also see our Thought of the Day about Mormonism here.
I really liked what Michael Davis, PhD, had to say about all this. He’s written articles for LeaderRU.com and stated ‘Moroni 10:3-5 is a trick’. His statement was blunt, but to the point, and stands as a clear warning to both Mormons and Christians alike.
You sir made a statement. However you did not Bach up your claim with facts. Would you please do so? Other wise your claim may be seen as empty.
