“And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.” Luke 21:8
With the heavy emphasis of going back to the basics promoted by the Mormon prophet Russell Nelson, we thought it’d be a good reminder for members of the Church to think about whom, or what it is they’re worshiping.
The Church is a poster child for publishing propaganda, and our topic today is a small example of their prolific works.
The following is an updated version of an article we wrote in 2014 ~
“The Fullness of the Gospel” “The Book of Mormon contains the most lucid and complete explanation of the atonement of Christ and therefore clearly qualifies as containing the fulness of the gospel. Of particular importance in explaining the atonement are chapters 2 and 9 of 2 Nephi, Mosiah 15, and chapters 34 and 42 of Alma.” – John A. Tvedtnes [emp. mine] (more…)

“What is Truth?” CES Broadcast, January 2013; “Yes, we do have the fulness of the everlasting gospel, but that does not mean that we know everything. In fact, one principle of the restored gospel is our belief that God ‘will yet reveal many great and important things.’” —Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Utah’s Legacy
Before I sent this off to be published I wanted to add a few words, especially for the members of the LDS Church.
You know, as we live this life on earth we learn and grow while encountering things we never thought of before. Years ago I went about making sure that I brought children into this world because I was convinced it’d get me into heaven. Now of course I’ve learned this doctrine isn’t true, but more importantly there was one other thing I didn’t think about when having all these kids. That one thing was growing attached to and feeling compassion for the kids my own children would one day surround themselves with in life.

UTAH’S DARK REALITY
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) the leading cause of death in America is heart disease, with suicide ranking eleventh. [1] Compare that with what the Utah Department of Health says. They report the leading cause of death for males between the ages of 15-44 as suicide. The Utah External Injury Data System says that from 1992 to 1999 there were 7,713 suicides alone. Eleven of those were between the ages of 0-9 years of age. [2]
The rate of suicide in Utah for females between the ages of 15-44 is four times the national average. With this being said, the CDC has been “unable to explain the regional variation of suicide”. About 20 percent of successful suicides have occurred in the 13-21 year old age bracket. The Utah Department of Health has declared it an “epidemic”. For the past four decades now, Utah has ranked in the top ten for numbers of suicides in the nation. [3] What is equally disturbing is that the other nine states are located in the intermountain west and Alaska.
