Genesis 49:10; “The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.”
John 17:3; “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

Called Shiloh or One Sent …… Word study time! The transliteration for Shiloh is shîlōh, pronounced shee-loh. In Hebrew it means tranquil, an epithet for the Messiah. The transliteration for scepter is shēbet and it means a branch, root, rod, scepter, or tribe. Symbolically speaking a scepter is a rod or staff carried by someone in authority, (usually a king).
This verse in Genesis tells us several things. 1.The One in authority is obviously Jesus. As we saw in yesterday’s witnessing tip, Jesus is the rightful heir because He’s from the loins of Judah. 2.Jesus is the One in authority who brings us peace or tranquility as His word says in John 17. 3.The well known fact that He gathered people from all over, Jew and Gentile alike, shows us everything in Genesis 49:10 has indeed come true!
Taking all this into account, how could Joe Smith think he was a king over Israel?
