Return to Cumorah, 1998; “Our testimony of the Book of Mormon remains a matter of faith, and not based upon external proofs found from archaeology.” – Duane R. Aston, PhD.
2 Thessalonians 2:7, 11; “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.”
Duane Aston, an apologist of the Church, argued for the idea that Hill Cumorah was/is in Central America and not upstate New York as the Church has historically insisted upon. While the debate still rages on, his book gives us an interesting insight into the world of Mormon apologetics.
Many don’t believe half of what the Church claims, yet they’ll defend it to the very end. Strong is the delusion indeed…
“External proofs found from archeology???” How about living DNA – which refutes any claims that native Americans are Jewish. That’s not external – it is the most internal kind of proof there is – it is God’s signature in our cells. Praise Him!
