Journal of Discourses 6:96; “We believe that we have a correct idea of the character of the Son from the writings of the Apostles, so far as they
learned it. But while he was tabernacling in the flesh, he was more or less contaminated with fallen nature. While he was here, in a body that his mother Mary bore him, he was more or less connected with and influenced by this nature that we have received.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, November 29, 1857
2 Corinthians 5:21; “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
1 Peter 2:21-22; “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth.”
Hebrews 4:15; “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”
We’ve spoken before on how the LDS Church denigrates our Lord Jesus. I cannot imagine believing Jesus had a sin nature anymore than I can believe He’s the brother of Lucifer.
Each and every LDS doctrine emblazoned in their canon reveals their mischaracterization of Jesus. We see this not only in Mr. Young’s statement today, but in statements leaders have made even last month in their General Conference talks.
You’ll also want to take notice that Mr. Young didn’t offer any scriptural proof with his statement. While we’ve only listed a small part of his speech here, you can read the entire thing for yourself in the embedded link above.
That is so awful it renders me speechless.
I know right?! Just how does someone justify, let alone explain such a thing?
