August 17 – John 8:44; “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

Notice where Jesus says that death comes from…He says that it comes from the devil. Compare it with what taught for today’s lesson.

How can you be a judge of the Church of Jesus Christ and make the claims you do, is your Church the Church of Jesus Christ if so you tell me how did you get your authority to do what you you do?

1.Why don’t you share your name w/ us?
2.We aren’t a church. We’re a ministry.
3.Acts 17:11 tells us the Bereans searched scripture to see if the things that the apostles were telling them was correct. 1 Thess. 5:21 tells us to test all things and hold fast to that which is good. 1 John 4:1 tells us to test the spirits.
4. And most importantly here – I’ll tell you the same thing Ed Decker and Ron Carlson always told me. I got my authority from the same place John the Baptist got his.
5. Keep in mind, we’re not judging an individual’s heart. We’re judging and testing the teachings of the LDS Church. You as an individual are not a church and you’re not a doctrine of that church. We would never presume to judge a person’s heart because only God can do that.
