Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp. 171-173; “… it is
generally supposed that sacrifice was entirely done away when the Great Sacrifice [i.e.,] the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus was offered up, and that there will be no necessity for the ordinance of sacrifice in future; but those who assert this are certainly not acquainted with the duties, privileges and authority of the Priesthood, or with the Prophets.
The offering of sacrifice has ever been connected and forms a part of the duties of the Priesthood. It began with the Priesthood, and will be continued until after the coming of Christ….
These sacrifices, as well as every ordinance belonging to the Priesthood, will, when the Temple of the Lord shall be built, and the sons of Levi be purified, be fully restored and attended to in all their powers, ramifications, and blessings. This ever did and ever will exist when the powers of the Melchizedek Priesthood are sufficiently manifest; else how can the restitution of all things spoken of by the Holy Prophets be brought to pass. It is not to be understood that the law of Moses will be established again with all its rites and variety of ceremonies; this has never been spoken of by the prophets; but those things which existed prior to Moses’ day, namely, sacrifice, will be continued.
It may be asked by some, what necessity for sacrifice, since the Great Sacrifice was offered? In answer to which, if repentance, baptism, and faith existed prior to the days of Christ, what necessity for them since that time? The Priesthood has descended in a regular line from father to son, through their succeeding generations.”—Joseph Smith, Oct. 5, 1840
Hebrews 9:13-14; “For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
Just how many other sacrifices will suffice if Jesus’ once and for all sacrifice isn’t enough for eternity?
In addition to the fantastic demonstration from the book of Hebrews on how sacrifices work, we can show that Smith’s ‘prophecy’ is wrong in just three words.
‘It is finished.’ – John 19:30
I would love to respond to this… Brigham Young was the one who pushed the Blood atonement, not Joseph and since it has been discovered that many of the documents acclaimed to have come from Joseph was doctored by Brigham Young crew after Joseph was dead… I would not put this to Joseph ever.. Read this and understand who is responsible for this lying doctrine.

Yes, Joseph Smith did say this and he is backed up by Ezekiel 44:11 and Malachi 3:1-6. For it is written in our law that Blood Sacrifices will return but only for one moment. Now as to your seeking to destroy Christ and His True Church, it will only harm you. If the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not Christian then what is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
“If the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not Christian then what is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?”
Well, it’s NOT Christian. As to what it is, it’s Satan’s way of enticing people to follow corrupt versions of REAL Christianity.
How do I know? If a church is Christian, it will firstly, follow the Triune God of the Bible. (see here: http://education.cph.org/teaching-the-faith-at-home/the-athanasian-creed/ )
Secondly, it will believe that Jesus paid for all of our sins on the cross so we cannot earn our way to salvation.
Whom do you believe? The ancient text of the Bible from the original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic OR men in LDS who change their ideas and call it “revelations”? Where is their proof?
All of what God wants us to know is in the Bible written by God-He breathed or inspired men with the Holy Spirit. Do your research away from LDS writings. They tell you that the Bible is not translated accurately but never tell you what is inaccurate. It’s just to keep you away from the truth.
No one came come to the real Triune God on their own. The Holy Spirit sees your heart, and if you’re truly repentant and searching for Him, He will show you all the answers in the Bible. Try it and let us know as we care!
