Liahona, ‘The Voice of the Spirit,’ April 1981; “Safety lies in knowing and complying with the
teachings of Jesus and his prophets, and in discerning and strictly heeding the guidance of the spirit of Christ which “giveth light to every man that cometh into the world; and (which) … enlighteneth every man through the world, that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit.
“(For) every one that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit avoids every unnatural, unholy, and impure practice, (and) cometh unto God, even the Father.” (D&C 84:46–47.)” – First Presidency Message, Marion G. Romney
Proverbs 29:25; “The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”
Right out of the gate we can know the statement Mr. Romney made is false! God, in His mercy, has given us very distinct guidelines in how to keep safe, and Mormonism time and again, proves they aren’t preaching the word of God when they pan out false teachings.
They’ve specifically said ‘the teachings of Jesus and his prophets’, keeps us safe. This as you know means they’ve included man in the list of voices we must obey.
I’ve always found it interesting how Smith and friends have known scripture well enough to twist its meaning, when they go about telling members of the Church it can’t be trusted…hmmm…why are they reading it if it’s not trustworthy???
Furthermore, the teaching that everyone born receives the spirit of Christ is false! Only those who accept the Lord have His Spirit.
If everyone was given the spirit of the Mormon christ when they were born, why are there people who aren’t believing Mormons?
In addition to all that, if Mormons are really obeying Christ at every twist and turn in life, why are there Mormons who sin?
