September 2 – Philippians 2:5-7; “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.”

Here was Jesus coming down here to this filthy earth with filthy minded man to save our souls. And here we have Smith teaching Jesus was ‘chosen’ to do God’s work as if it weren’t His plan to begin with.
These two stories are so vastly different it’s more than obvious they are two different theologies. One is a god that was once a man who has the ability to sin. The other is the Only God there is. Ask your Mormon friend what they think of this.

“At the great council in heaven, God stood in the midst of His spirit-children and appointed “the noble and great ones” to future positions of leadership after they should become mortals. In that assembled throng there was one “like unto God.” This glorious personage volunteered to be the Savior of the world, humbly declaring, “Father, Thy will be done, and the glory be thine forever.” Thereupon the Father accepted His offer and foreordained Him to this great mission. This individual, while acting as the mediator, was none other than Jehovah of the Old Testament, and when He lived in mortality He was Jesus Christ of the New Testament.” Milton R. Hunter, The Gospel through the Ages, pg 15.
