Today we’re taking another look at the adoration, and wholesale worship of Joseph Smith in the Mormon Church. The following teaching comes from the LDS Apostle Parley Parker Pratt, who in the eyes of the Church, was also a Mormon martyr.
Key to the Science of Theology, p. 76; “The United States of America was the favored nation raised up, with institutions adapted to the protection and free development of the necessary truths and their practical results. And that great Prophet, Apostle and martyr,
JOSEPH SMITH,
was the Elias, the restorer, the presiding messenger, holding the keys of the “dispensation of the fullness of times.”
Yes, that extraordinary man, whose innocent blood is yet dripping, as it were, from the hands of assassins and their accessories in the United States, was the chosen vessel honored
of God, and ordained by angels, to ordain other Apostles and Elders, to restore the Church and Kingdom of God, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and to be a messenger in the spirit and power of Elijah, to prepare the way of the Lord. “For, behold, He will suddenly come to His temple!” – Parley Parker Pratt, 1855
Matthew 11:13-15; “For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. 14 And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come. 15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
Malachi 3:1a; “Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts…”
The 1st edition of ‘Key to the Science of Theology’ was published in 1855, so as you can verily see, Pratt’s ideological praises of Smith were being taught in full measure long ago.
Adding insult to injury, you’ll also notice how they’ve plagiarized the Bible in a lame attempt to lend credence to their awful cause. This is done for one purpose only; to confuse members who read their montage of lies.
Questions we have today –
If the Bible is so ‘mistranslated’, why do they use it so often? Why don’t they reject all of it in lieu of their prophet’s inspired revelations?
If the LDS Church is truly Christian, why have they lifted key biblical elements from God’s word, and twisted its meaning? This disregard for the Bible draws people away from God, not to Him.
How do they explain Malachi’s prophecy of Jesus telling us about John the Baptist?
There seems to be a lot of twists and turns in the Mormon’s story. I wonder…does anyone in the Church keep track of all the lies they tell, and if so, do they care?
My concern is for the average Mormon out there like my mom, or the friends of the Christians I spoke with last night at a speaking engagement.
The hearts of the Christians I met last night in the Seattle area were torn for their lost Mormon friends. It saddens me to no end seeing the despair and deep concern for their loved ones that are lost in the web of lies.
