May 3 – Most Important Commitment. Luke 14:26-27; “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple. Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after Me cannot be my disciple”

Jesus told us that our commitment to Him must supersede our commitment to even our families. Our family, our friends, and every other person we consider near, and dear to us, mustn’t ever come between us and Jesus. In marriage, the only thing standing between the husband and wife should be the Lord. He’s the glue for every relationship, He’s the healer of every hurt, and most importantly, He’s the Only way to salvation.
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment” (Matthew 22:37-38).
