December 23 – The Bridegroom. Isaiah 62:5; “For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.”

John 3:29; “He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.”
Before I became a Christian, I had no idea the body of Christ as looked upon as Jesus’ bride. The only time I recall hearing the ‘M’ word being used in a doctrinal sense, always had to do with the mandate of marriage for salvation. The heavy emphasis of Christianity being the ‘whores of Babylon’ overshadowed any, and all teachings, of God rejoicing over us. For the Christian, this is glorious news! He rejoices over us!
Do share this with a Mormon you know – and soon! By and large, members of the Church typically have a woe-is-me disposition which stems from having no hope! Don’t be shy in letting them know how much God truly loves them!

The Miracle of Forgiveness [Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1969, p. 204; “This progress toward eternal life is a matter of achieving perfection. Living all the commandments guarantees total forgiveness of sins and assures one of exaltation through that perfection which comes by complying with the formula the Lord gave us. In his Sermon on the Mount he made the command to all men: “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” (Matt. 5:48.) Being perfect means to triumph over sin. This is a mandate from the Lord.” – Spencer W. Kimball
