January 2 – Smith’s preexistence contradictions. Proverbs 30:4; “Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?”

This verse in Proverbs is an excellent resource to show Mormons they weren’t in the pre-existence with the Lord before they came into existence. You can also ask them why their leaders taught such contradictory doctrine. Brigham Young taught that Jesus is our elder brother, but Joe Smith didn’t say anything about this in his Doctrine and Covenants. Which doctrine is the Mormon to believe?
Discourses of Brigham Young, p. 40; “Our Lord Jesus Christ—the Savior … is our Elder Brother, and the Heir of the family, and as such we worship him. He has tasted death for every man, and has paid the debt contracted by our first parents. 12:69.”
