General Conference, “The Power of the Book of Mormon,” April 2017; “My dear associates in the work of the Lord, I implore each of us to prayerfully study and ponder the Book of Mormon each day. As we do so, we will be in a position to hear the voice of the Spirit, to resist temptation, to overcome doubt and fear, and to receive heaven’s help in our lives.” – Thomas Monson
John 14:6; “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Melissa sent me the following e-mail a few days ago asking if we could use it in one of our daily posts, so here it is! One thing is for certain – we must be in constant prayer for the everyday Mormon who’s so wrapped up in the religion they can’t see anything else…
I absolutely agree 100% with her analysis. I too find it heartbreaking to hear how this seemingly harmless man could be so ruthless by leading innocent people away from God, and into the camp of evil. Without further ado, here’s Melissa’s note –
This quote was on a Mormon FB page I follow, and after I read it I looked on and saw this comment to the post –
“I was thinking about how much I love President Monson when the thought came to my mind … If you love him, are you committed to obeying his teachings?”
I look at this quote and wondered, was I that far gone too? Was I at the point where I was so in love with, and devoted to a man I completely refused to acknowledge Jesus Christ?
What about obeying the teachings of Jesus Christ, and of God who said, “you shall have no other gods before me”, and “I am the way, the truth and the life”?
It’s all so frustrating and heartbreaking to see them pour out their love for a man, but put Jesus on the back-burner of their lives, only to pull him out when they want to appear Christian to the outside world.
JESUS>religion…it’s simple math my friends.
Amen Melissa, amen!
False teachers will be punished. “Follow the prophet.” is their way of leading astray, along with studying the BOM. With these ideas filling the Mormons mind on a constant basis, their is no room for Jesus. By studying the Bible instead on a daily basis, one sees the real Jesus and learns of the fallacies of Mormonism.
Near our church is a Mormon church. Our late pastor had a BOM on the counter behind his desk. He used it to show these false teachings to those that came to him. By comparing the BOM with the Bible, people saw the real Jesus.
Here on this website are the comparisons. Much information and research is at anyone’s reach on the sidebar. All it takes is for a sincere desire to know the real Jesus of the Bible. The Holy Spirit will open your eyes as you read this truth.
We join Michelle and Melissa in prayers that Mormons will do this.
In Christ,
Sue
Thanks for your input Sue – we always benefit when you write in! I’m especially grateful for the time your late pastor took to witness using LDS material he kept so readily available!
Let us all pray we have a heart filled with patience and take a moment to share truth even with those who don’t seem willing to listen!
