April 11 – Separating wheat from the chaff. Luke 24:36-9 & Acts 1:9-11; “And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And he said unto the, Why are ye troubled? And why do thought arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.”
“And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; which also said, Ye men of Galilee, Why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”

My main advice for today’s lesson is to make sure you go through these passages with your Mormon friend in context. Read the entire section of these two passages with them so they can see for themselves it is talking about the resurrection, not God having a body of flesh and bones. When Mormons use scripture for their defense always be on the lookout so you’re not fooled!

Point 11. “The true church must teach that God and Jesus Christ have bodies of flesh and bone. Luke 24:36-9 and Acts 1:9-11.”
