Discourses of Brigham Young, selected and arranged by John A. Widtsoe [Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Co., 1954], 593; “The names of every son and daughter of Adam are already written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Is there ever a time when they will be taken out of it? Yes, when they become sons of perdition, and not till then. Every person has the privilege of retaining it there for ever and ever. If they neglect that privilege, then their names will be erased, and not till then. All the names of the human family are written there, and the Lord will hold them there until they come to the knowledge of the truth, that they can rebel against him, and can sin against the Holy Ghost; then they will be thrust down to hell, and their names be blotted out from the Lamb’s Book of Life. 6:297.” – Brigham Young [Note: this is found on p. 387 in the non-electronic format]
Revelation 21:27; “And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”
God’s word is very clear. No one’s name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life unless they are worthy to be there. Not every person ever born will be in that book, and then taken out if they don’t conform to Mormon theology. They’ve got this all backwards!
If/when your name is in the Lamb’s Book of Life, it means you’ve made it to heaven! PTL! Evil people aren’t allowed in and then kicked out…oh be still my heart! Can you just imagine turning around and seeing Hitler, Ted Bundy, or even worse yet, the King of the Ammonites? No, no, no, no! God wouldn’t do this to us!
You can know Brigham Young’s doctrines are still intact by reading modern day teachings of their leadership today. See Mormon Doctrine, and Encyclopedia of Mormonism references below.
Mormon Doctrine, p. 36; “Names of faithful saints are recorded in the book of life while they are yet in mortality. (Luke 10:20; Philip. 4:3; Teachings, p. 9.) But those names are blotted out in the event of wickedness. (Rev. 13:8; 17:8; 22:19.)” – Bruce R. McConkie (Note: this is found on p. 97 of the non-electronic version.)
Encyclopedia of Mormonism, p. 138; “Ultimately, only the names of those who qualify for eternal life remain written or “sealed” (TPJS, p. 9) in the Lamb’s book of life.” – J. Lewis Taylor

This explains the TWO BOOKS. One is where everyone’s name is in, with all their deed in life, used at judgement. The other is The Book of Life where the names of those who believe, were baptized in Jesus, repented of their sins, etc. names are- These names are the forgiven and given eternal life. Yes, YOU can remove your name if YOU later commit the unforgiveable sin against the Holy Spirit, denying Christ.
I didn’t explain the SIN AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT properly; from LCMS.org/faq page is the full definition.
“The sin against the Holy Spirit is the conscious, persistent, stubborn, unyielding refusal of someone who was at one time a believer to acknowledge his or her sin, be sorry for it, and desire God’s forgiveness in Christ.
It is impossible, therefore, for a confessing Christian to fall into this state unknowingly or unwillingly, and any confessing Christian who is sincerely concerned about the possibility of having committed this “sin” clearly has not committed it, because one of the necessary signs of being in this state of non-repentance and unbelief is having no real concern or remorse about being in this condition.”
What this means is YOU, not God, remove your name in a conscious decision from the Book of Life. The Trine God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; He is one God of 3 persons as per the ancient Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic.
