“My Hope is Built on Nothing Less”
by Edward Mote, 1797-1874My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand….
That hymn is one of my all time favs, and I pray all Mormons will come to know it in the depths of their souls as I have done…
The singular hope of every believer is God’s merciful redemption of the soul. Along with that hope comes the full understanding God’s provision has been granted solely through the means of the blessed sacrifice of His Only Son who became the propitiation for the sins of man. Without that singular intervention, all hope for man’s eternal well being is eternally doomed.
Beginning today and every few days or so over the course of the next few weeks, we’re looking at two world belief systems, if you will.
Christianity and Mormonism.
As the time draws closer to the holiday season, you can be sure the hoopla of flashing lights adorning store windows will be out in full force. It reminded us at the ministry of the intensity in the number of people leaving Mormonism.
The facts of what is taking place can no longer be ignored by the LDS Church as we’ve answered more e-mails and phone calls from those leaving than ever. After speaking with other ministry leaders, we know they’re experiencing the same thing – PTL! There’s not just a handful here and there that are leaving, oh no! There are hundreds leaving the fold of Mormonism, each with their own set of reasons.
All that said, we want to reemphasize the reason why the Church is losing its membership at such a rapid rate.
We’re thinking…
It’s too bad the Mormon missionaries don’t share the following info with those who unknowingly open their doors looking for truth…
The following link is from our Foundation of Mormonism series. As you read over their vastly different examples of Jesus, don’t forget to pray for them and be sure to ask them for their opinion!
