Luke 1:35 “And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy offspring shall be called the Son of God.””
Today we’re looking at the Jesus of Mormonism, and the real Jesus found in the Bible.
The reason we’re doing this stems from a number of ‘coincidences’ that have taken place in the past week . One of those things was an e-mail I received from Melissa, and without her knowledge, it happened to be the same subject matter of our scheduled witnessing tip for today. In addition to those two things, I received an e-mail from a distraught Mormon telling me she just found out that Mormons believe God had sex with Mary to create Jesus. Oh be still my heart…
All those things combined, told us we need to remind people why the Jesus of Mormonism is not the same Jesus of the Bible! (more…)

John 20:25 “ The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
If you know anything about Mormonism you’ve most certainly heard the phrase, ‘Of course we’re Christian, Jesus’ name is in the title of our church’.
Many have questioned why anyone would doubt their claim of being a Christian organization because of how ‘nice’ they seem to be outwardly, along with their clean-cut appearance. For sure, they do seem like someone you could write home about.
Aside from all the claims they’ve made about being a Christian organization from Joe Smith onward, Christians can be assured Mormons aren’t speaking truth based on one thing an LDS apostle said.

Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
As we approach Christmas Day, we believe it’s important for this ministry to loudly proclaim the whole reason for the season, as the saying goes! That said, over the next few days we’re looking at the basics of both Christianity, and Mormonism. Our topic:
Who is Jesus?
We’re looking at the very basics of what God has revealed about His Son through His word, and comparing it with what Mormon leaders have always taught about Him. To be sure, the LDS references we’re looking at aren’t some obscure blips of info pulled from a dusty old shelf, rather, these are common teachings/doctrines of Mormonism all members will be able to recognize, and affirm, this is the god they worship.

“My Hope is Built on Nothing Less”
by Edward Mote, 1797-1874My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand….
That hymn is one of my all time favs, and I pray all Mormons will come to know it in the depths of their souls as I have done…
The singular hope of every believer is God’s merciful redemption of the soul. Along with that hope comes the full understanding God’s provision has been granted solely through the means of the blessed sacrifice of His Only Son who became the propitiation for the sins of man. Without that singular intervention, all hope for man’s eternal well being is eternally doomed.

Hebrews 9:14 “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
Doctrines of Salvation 1:133; “Are you aware that there are certain sins that man may commit for which the atoning blood of Christ does not avail? Do you not know, too, that this doctrine is taught in the Book of Mormon? And is not this further reason why you should discard the book as well as the name? Is it not safe for us to rely upon the scriptures for the solution of problems of this kind?” – Joseph Fielding Smith

Isaiah 9:6; “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
The verse we’re listing here today is an intro for an article you’ll see tomorrow! We’ve been exploring what the Mormon Church believes about Jesus Christ. Who is He, where He came from, and how Mormonism has degraded Him throughout their history.
In a book published in the early ’90’s, ‘How Wide the Divide’, an evangelical and a Mormon have a round-table discussion on basic Mormon beliefs.
