Discourses of Brigham Young, p. 435 “The Savior sought continually to impress upon the minds of His disciples that a perfect oneness reigned among all celestial beings—that the Father and the Son and their Minister, the Holy Ghost, were one in their administration in heaven and among the people pertaining to this earth. Between them and all the heavenly hosts there can be no disunion, no discord, no wavering on a suggestion, on a thought or reflection, on a feeling or manifestation; for such a principle would differ widely from the character of him who dictates them, who makes his throne the habitation of justice, mercy, equity, and truth. If the heavenly hosts were not one, they would be entirely unfit to dwell in the eternal burnings with the Father and Ruler of the universe. 7:276.” — Brigham Young [Note: this is found on p. 282 in non-electronic format.] (more…)

April 8 – Luke 24:36-39 & Acts 1:9-11; “And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And he said unto the, Why are ye troubled? And why do thought arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; which also said, Ye men of Galilee, Why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”

Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
As we approach Christmas Day, we believe it’s important for this ministry to loudly proclaim the whole reason for the season, as the saying goes! That said, over the next few days we’re looking at the basics of both Christianity, and Mormonism. Our topic:
Who is Jesus?
We’re looking at the very basics of what God has revealed about His Son through His word, and comparing it with what Mormon leaders have always taught about Him. To be sure, the LDS references we’re looking at aren’t some obscure blips of info pulled from a dusty old shelf, rather, these are common teachings/doctrines of Mormonism all members will be able to recognize, and affirm, this is the god they worship.

As I was on the web last night looking at my email I noticed a video ad that asked the questions; “How do I forgive?”, “Will God help me? Where can I find happiness? “. These questions were followed by the caption, “The Book of Mormon: Real Answers, Real Questions”, along with a place to click to learn more.
Clicking the learn more button will take you to mormon.org, and a page with the heading-

1 Corinthians 1:18 “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”
While looking for a reference on another article, I came across the image we’re using as the topic for today. See ldsfreedomforum.com, where I retrieved my original info.
You’d think that after doing this for 2½ decades I’d get used to the demonic symbols the Church likes to plaster all over their buildings, but I haven’t. I gave up the notion I’d stop being horrified years ago, and figured out my reaction is what continues to fuel my desire to keep warning my people. Oh, how I pray they’d stop to think of the impact these things have on their very soul!
That being said, my reaction is apparently not what the Church had in mind by placing these occult symbols all over their ‘holy’ sepulchres. LDS Church Historian Hugh Nibley defined the purpose and meaning of their temples as a representation of their expanded gospel, leading them to godhood status.

“The word “God” is a title. It’s not the actual name of Christ and it’s not the name of Heavenly Father. So could others like you and I be called using that same title someday if we are faithful children of a being with the title of “God”? (John 10:30-36) (Romans 8:16-17)”
No, others like you, or I, can never be called by that name, it doesn’t matter how faithful we are, no, never.

Several days ago, the Church posted a video, ‘Mormon Message: Like a Broken Vessel’, where their apostle, Russell Ballard, spoke on the ‘epidemic’ of mental illness, and depression. The reason we’ve brought this up isn’t to delve into the discussion of what is, and isn’t sin, rather, it’s to point out the solution Mr. Ballard promised would work for this problem.
The 12 minute video is a compilation of several people sharing experiences they’ve had (including Mr. Ballard), and how the Church’s gospel offers the hope they were searching for to obtain peace. Mr. Ballard went so far as to say, “everything that was broken gets fixed. That’s the great promise of the gospel.”

Brigham’s words were an ominous warning of what was to come. This essay discloses some of the most blasphemous ideologies Brigham espoused, and passed on down to his followers. The jury’s still out on which teaching he proclaimed was the worst. It’s a toss-up between Jesus being no different than Cain or Abel., Adam ‘decelestializing’ himself, or that Peter is Joseph Smith’s god. Ugh! It seems these men had far too much time on their hands…(Proverbs 16:27)
